Kicker Training and Ball Flight Control (BFC)

If you are not kicking as well as you would like there is only two reasons.

1)  You are not doing the right drills to develop the correct technique.

2)  You are not doing the right amount of repetitions to develop the correct technique.

When you train with Coach Renner, I will give you the right drills and the right amount of repetitions for each drill to develop ball flight control (BFC).

Nothing is more important for a kicker than BFC.  You might think that this fact is obvious.  But if you ask a kicker how he did on a day after a kicking workout then his first response is “I made a 55-yard field goal”.   This tells you his mindset is on how far he can kick not how many kicks he can make.  Because that same day he made the 55-yard field goal he missed a 32 yard field goal!

As an offensive play caller for 30 years I don’t care about the 55 yard made field goal.  I don’t intend to let the kicker try 55 yard field goals.  I need the 32 yard field goal to be made 100% of the time.  It makes calling plays easier for me and helps the team more.

The right drills with the right number of repetitions.  The only way to train to be able to kick well consistently.
